Is Healthy Weight Loss Possible?
One way to lose a few pounds, or so a number of people think, is by not eating and although this is a way to lose a few unwanted pounds, it can have repercussions if carried out for extended periods and no doctor or dietician would ever recommend doing this. Weight loss like this is not healthy as we all require specific vitamins and nutrients in our food to maintain our health.
Healthy weight loss and maintenance actually means to eat a healthy diet rich in the nutrients we need without excess calories. Many people forget just how important it is to have a decent night’s sleep for good health and body maintenance but juts as important is burning off those excess calories found in the areas of fat most of carry around with us.
Often it is the women’s magazines which are too blame for promoting crazy diets based on little scientific fact expecting the overweight person to live on a specific type of food and then expect them to believe that this is a healthy weight loss plan. An example of this would be the ‘healthy’ diet that relies on the dieter eating nothing more that fruit boiled vegetables, salads and chicken; which in itself is not bad but does not include many other types of food that we need to stay healthy.
This is not to mention that after one and a half weeks of such a dietary program, you’ll feel like you’d never want to touch chicken again as the body creates an almost defensive reaction towards this kind of force-feeding. If you want to be on the right track for your healthy weight loss, all you need to remember is not to eat foods with a high calorific value, keep up the daily physical activities, even if it is walking for thirty minutes, and make sure you sleep well.
Eating during the night when they should be asleep is actually quite common for overweight people and a doctor can tell a great deal about a person who does not sleep well. Many overweight people also suffer from stress which physical activity is known to eliminate and by eating healthily, calories will be lost but all this will go to waste if you are getting up in the night to eat.
You do not have to follow a health weight loss program for very long before your body will start noticing the difference with increased energy levels, better sleep and feeling healthier which also means you will be less prone to illness. Another aspect of a healthy weight loss diet is personal involvement and self-impression on the undergoing transformation so for instance; being too critical and demanding with yourself could sometimes do more bad than good. You can’t ask miracles from your body because it responds in a certain rhythm to physical stimuli and overweight people who desperately want to lose weight often have the tendency to work themselves out in tiresome physical exercises. Why not build up your stamina and fitness level a little by carrying out some everyday activities first like walking or swimming for example. You should never forget that your body has its limitations and mobility comes in time.
